Do you have bone, joint or muscle pain?
We would like to highlight this excellent service available to Tisbury patients.
We are fortunate to have the services of a First Contact Physiotherapist (FCP) working for our Primary Care Network. He is based in Tisbury on Mondays and works at neighbouring practices on Wednesdays and Fridays. As he has authorised access to the clinical system, he is able to provide telephone consultations wherever he is based.
FCPs can give patients quicker access to diagnosis and treatment, helping manage your musculoskeletal conditions more effectively - so you can get back to normal life quickly.
The FCP will assess, diagnose, give expert advice and can refer to specialist services quickly and has excellent links to the appropriate teams at the hospital.
You may be eligible for an appointment with the First Contact Physiotherapist for the following problems:
- All soft tissue injuries, sprains, strains or sports injuries
- Arthritis – any joint
- Possible problems with muscles, ligaments, tendons or bone, eg tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, ankle sprains
- Spinal pain including lower back pain, mid-back pain and neck pain
- Spinal-related pain in arms or legs, including nerve symptoms, eg pins and needles or numbness
- Changes to walking
- Post-orthopaedic surgery
Initially we will offer you a telephone appointment with the FCP on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday to discuss your symptoms and initiate treatment including booking a face-to-face appointment as appropriate.
You can book a telephone appointment directly with our FCP via reception, which means you won’t need to wait for a referral from a doctor.
